Why should a team participate?
This U.S. Drone Soccer Nationwide competition is aimed at giving teams practical experiences to refine their skills and potential. Managing smaller competitions through LeagueOS (Fly.DroneSoccer.US) will advance educators, coaches and competitors knowledge of best practices toward finding success as teams move up the competitive ladder.
Is AMA membership required for the Summer Series?
No.
How will resulting points be accumulated?
Competitions scheduled in LeagueOS will result in teams accumulating points as long as:
1.) The team is registered with a U.S. Drone Soccer unique team designation number showing State, District and assigned number.
Example: NCIV-140 is the unique team designation number indicating North Carolina, District IV and assigned number 140 which is Asheboro HS Blue Comets.
2.) Team members are registered in LeagueOS and assigned to their registered team.
3.) Matches are scheduled in LeagueOS with invited and committed teams listed and scheduled to compete.
4.) Matches are bracketed through the Tournament Bracket generator in LeagueOS
5.) Matches are scored showing team by team performance in each set of a Match.
Tournament brackets are scored & completed for that competition which clearly indicate that teams competed and their first, second, third, etc. placement in that competition.
Who can organize an event?
Events can be created by a District Leader or a Team Coach. Team Coaches should connect with District Leaders to coordinate events
What is the cost for Sanctioning an event?
There is no charge to run a Sanctioned Event through the U.S. Drone Soccer Association.
Can I charge admission to an event?
Yes. We ask that you attempt to have your event sponsor supported to increase team participation. Any fee should be minimal.
What staffing is required for Match gameplay during the Summer Series?
1.) Each arena must have at least 1 Referee. A single Referee must ensure compliance with the current Gameplay Condensed Ruleset. Although it is preferred to have a Head Referee along with a Red and Blue Referee, it is not required for Summer Series events.
2.) Each arena must have at least 1 Scorekeeper. The Scorekeeper can keep track manually using U.S. Drone Soccer Association Scoresheets, an electronic scoreboard, and/or live LeagueOS.
3.) Event Organizer is responsible for ensuring scores are posted in LeagueOS and reported via the U.S. Drone Soccer Event Results Form.
